A series of prestigious civic ceremonies across New York State honoured His Eminence Prof. Sir Dr. Madhu Krishan—eminent scientist, humanitarian, educator, and global peace advocate—for his outstanding contributions to humanitarian service, scientific advancement, education, international cooperation, environmental sustainability, and global peace.
The official recognition commenced In a significant recognition, The Hon. Gary R. McCarthy, Mayor of the City of Schenectady, presented an Official Proclamation acknowledging Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan’s remarkable contributions to peace-building, education, humanitarian service, environmental sustainability, disaster management, and the promotion of human rights.
The highlight of the visit came when Mayor Gary R. McCarthy officially proclaimed July 1, 2026, as “The Day of His Eminence Prof. Sir Dr. Madhu Krishan” in the City of Schenectady. The historic proclamation recognizes his extraordinary international achievements and enduring legacy in advancing global peace, scientific excellence, education, humanitarian values, and international friendship.
The proclamation was presented to Dr. Krishan in the Presence of dignitaries, including H.E. Dr. Philip Fields, Secretary of the New York State Assembly – Ways and Means Committee; H.E. Mr. John Mootooveren, Councilman of the City of Schenectady.
In the next official recognitions commenced at the New York State Assembly, where Assemblyman H.E. Er. Angelo Santabarbara presented Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan with a Citation of Honour in recognition of his decades of international leadership in promoting peace, education, humanitarian development, environmental stewardship, and global collaboration etc. etc.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including H.E. Dr. Philip Fields, Secretary of the New York State Assembly – Ways and Means Committee; H.E. Mr. John Mootooveren, Councilman of the City of Schenectady; senior government officials, diplomats, civic leaders, and invited international guests.
During his official visit to Schenectady, the Police Commissioner Honorable Mr. Brian Whipple – Chief of Police for the City of Schenectady, New York conferred upon Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan the Prestigious Police Medal of Honour in recognition of his lifelong commitment to humanitarian service and global peace.
Another important ceremony was held in Albany, New York, where Her Excellency Dr. Dorcey Applyrs, Mayor of Albany, participated in an international goodwill programme hosted by The American University USA Inc. (AUGP USA) and The United Nations University for Global Peace Inc. USA (UNUGP USA).
On the occasion, AUGP USA and UNUGP USA honoured Mayor Dr. Dorcey Applyrs with the Human Excellence Golden Award in recognition of her exemplary public leadership, civic service, and commitment to community development.
In return, Mayor Dr. Dorcey Applyrs presented His Eminence Prof. Sir Dr. Madhu Krishan with a Citation of Honour, recognising his exceptional global contributions to peace, education, humanitarian service, scientific advancement, and international cooperation.
Adding to the list of honours, H.E. Gary Hughes, Chairman of the Schenectady County Legislature, presented Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan with an Official Proclamation and Citation of Honour during a special legislative ceremony attended by Councilman Mr. John Mootooveren, members of the Legislature, government officials, and invited dignitaries.
In another event H.E.Mr. Carl Williams the Hon’ble President of Schenctadey City Council was also honoured with Prestigious Award of Human Excellence Golden Award & Certificate Of Excellence in the Schenctadey City Hall in the presence of H E. Dr. Philip Fields, Secretary, Ways & Means Committee,New York State Assembly & Councilman H.E. Mr. Mootooveren .
In another event School Superintendent Of Schenctadey City Dr.Carlos M. Cotto Jr. Received Human Excellence Golden Award And Certificate Of Excellence From AUGP USA . The event was graced by the presence of .H.E. Mr. John Mootooveren , H.E. Dr. Carol Dwarka ,other Faculties of the School .
His Eminence Prof. Sir Dr. Madhu Krishan serves as the Founder and Chairman of the Academy of Universal Global Peace (USA) An IGO ( Inter Governmental Organization ) and Chairman-cum-Chief Rector of The American University USA Inc. (AUGP USA) and The United Nations University for Global Peace Inc. USA (UNUGP USA) – IGO . Through these institutions, he has led numerous international initiatives promoting higher education, scientific research, humanitarian development, environmental awareness, peace education, and global cooperation.
The international programme was coordinated by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Carol Dwarka, Ambassador of AUGP and UNUGP USA with her team with Dr. Bindu Maria Thomas , whose leadership contributed significantly to the successful organisation of the official ceremonies and diplomatic engagements.
Special Commemoration of America’s 250th Independence Anniversary
As part of the celebrations marking 250 years of American Independence, a special commemorative programme was also held in New York on July 4, 2026, honouring Native American First Nation leaders and distinguished international dignitaries.
Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan presided over the event as Chief Guest. The gathering was attended by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bigg Up Healing Water, Chief/Prime Minister of the Iroquois Council Autochthon American Nation (ICAAN), along with several respected Native American leaders and representatives from North and South America.
On this occasion, AUGP USA and UNUGP USA presented prestigious Awards, Citations, and Certificates of Recognition to Both Hon’ble Prime Ministers H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bigg Up Healing Water, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Adonis Ra’El, and other distinguished personalities the Native Americans for their exceptional contributions to peace, humanitarian service, leadership, and nation-building..
Peace Ambassador Certificate from UNUGP & Doctorate ( Honoris Causa) From AUGP USA was also conferred upon Pastor Varghese George .
This event of 250 Americans Freedom on 4 th July was organised by H.E. Amb. Dr. Varghese George & Mrs. Honey Sara Varghese and team – Ms. Pinky Nelson , Libi ,Dr. Jacob K Mathew .
Expressing gratitude after receiving the honours, Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan said:
